Autosystems decide to install the ActivEntry system because they wanted to train their floor employees by making information’s accessible by them with risk management in order to experience the positive impact of this sharing in the performance in an organization. Using ActivEntry the information was now available by work center, about labor efficiencies, cost of production and scrap. This result the efficient plans to make changes and adjust productions.

They are able to rely on the data provided.

Out of this all, I think major benefit is the ability to capture labor, efficiency, production, scrap etc on time and by work centre for every aspect and component and are able to talk about that in team meetings in everyday basis. This gives the clear vision about what is going right and what is going wrong so that adjustments and improvements could be made as per that.

3)      What changes are already being planned to improve the use of ActivEntry? What other improvements should the company consider? Why?

In order to improve the use of ActivEntry, they planned to adopt more PCs in the floor. Use of bar code printers and scanners in the floor was also made so as to facilitate the use of ActivEntry. They also designed a new job with new concept as a “Production Analyst” for the smooth functioning of the new system. They also arranged the training, support and continued assistance to production associates so that this system could be more fruitful to the organization.

They should also have a specialized people in the workforce in the floor so that they could monitor the performers and make real time adjustments, making the system much smooth and effective. They should maintain proper control over the use of resources so that employees can be more productive. They should also be considerate and focused towards security issues and see that if something that shouldn’t be shared is on the floor or not.
